Job Description
The Construction Superintendent is a key part of Kinsley Steel's field and project management team for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate structural steel and miscellaneous erection projectsRead specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials requiredCreate schedules that include preconstruction planning, weekly progress, deliveries, turnovers, and closeout proceduresManage vendors and subcontractorsAssist the Project Manager in the monthly Work in Progress reports (WIPs) based on field labor productivityMonitor project safetyCoordinate field quality control reporting and survey coordinationAssist Project Manager in developing change ordersMaintain positive client relationships and communicate effectively with all parties associated with the projectCommunicate and coordinate with other project contractors and fabrication to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflictsIssue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policiesEffectively organize and maintain important documents in both a hard copy and electronic formatQualificationsPrior Construction Superintendent experienceValid US driver's license is required5+ years of experience in construction site work preferredStructural Steel or Miscellaneous Metals experience a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling softwareKnowledge of Tekla (Powerfab, Trimble Connect) software programs is a plusKnowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and proceduresKnowledge of applicable and proper use for the following: transit, laser lever, torpedo, torque guns, welders, gas supplied equipment, rigging and componentsAbility to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics relevant to the positionPossess at minimum the tools required to field measure, verify, and audit basic conformity standardsEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
