About This Role

This key position supports the team in delivering a high-quality educational program and creating a safe, nurturing environment for young children.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, team player, and caregiver who can develop strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning engaging activities, observing and documenting child progress, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve exceptional care and education outcomes.



What You'll Do

  • Supporting children with daily needs, including mealtime, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Assisting in curriculum implementation and promoting child participation.
  • Engaging in activities, maintaining classroom order, and ensuring the availability of materials.
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Modeling self-help and good hygiene practices.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition from home to the child care center.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Maintaining a high-quality Youngstar classroom environment.
  • Following center policies and Wisconsin Licensing standards.
  • Developing a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.


Requirements

  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • MUST love to give hugs.
  • Have a PASSION for children.
  • The DESIRE to make a difference in the lives of others.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Experience in child care setting.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance.
  • Common Sense.


Nice To Haves

  • Sense of humor!
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Multi-tasking is a lifesaver!
