About This Role

Lily Pad Learning Center is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a Teacher! This role involves working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong understanding of child development.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing educational programs, leading a cohesive teaching team, and ensuring a safe and stimulating classroom environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.



What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement educational programs that cater to the needs of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, adhering to developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example, promoting a team-oriented approach and providing coaching and guidance to teaching team members.
  • Create engaging activities that encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Establish open lines of communication with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Maintain compliance with center policies and state regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files, ensuring up-to-date documentation and efficient record-keeping.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices and continuing to improve the quality of care and education provided.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
  • Ability to work well with others, fostering a team environment and promoting positive relationships with staff, children, and parents.
  • A strong understanding of child development and its application in educational settings.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, with the ability to complete a full background check and pass a health screening.
  • Completion of the 3 teacher required courses or equivalents: Introduction to Childcare Profession, Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler, and Skills and Strategies for the Childcare Teacher.
  • Physical abilities to perform frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, and potentially kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on effective communication and problem-solving.
