Mobile Heavy Equipment Service Technician (Diesel/Hydraulic)
Job Description
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Belle Vernon)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, overtime after 40 hours. This role may include on-call rotations with additional compensation.
A day in your steel-toesYou roll into our Belle Vernon yard, sync your tablet, and your workday is mapped out through our proprietary tech. Your first stop is a customer job site where a telehandler is throwing fault codes. You pull live data across hundreds of makes and models, pinpoint the root cause in minutes, secure parts, and get the machine back to work—safely and efficiently. After closing the work order, you head to the next call: a scissor lift with a hydraulic issue. By day’s end, you’ve diagnosed, repaired, documented, and prepared for tomorrow—all with industry-leading tools and the newest fleet at your fingertips.
What you’ll do- Create, assign, and track work orders using laptop/tablet tools; manage service intervals and order parts
- Safely diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer-owned equipment and aerial lifts
- Travel to customer sites for field service and keep your service vehicle clean and professional
- Maintain daily, complete electronic documentation of work performed
- Assist in training junior technicians
- Support with equipment/parts pick-up and delivery
- Apply OSHA knowledge and safe-job practices (preferred)
- Participate in year-round, company-provided OEM training
- Other duties as assigned

- Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong tool proficiency
- Deep knowledge of construction equipment; can read schematics/diagrams
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, and written/verbal communication
- High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; must be at least 21 to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- May be required to be clean shaven to access certain customer worksites
