Candidates without this experience or an active Q Clearance will not be considered.WHY THIS ROLEThe Technical Project Manager 2 (TPM 2) supports and manages discrete technical construction scope at Los Alamos National Laboratory, ensuring timely completion of all project elements within a DOE Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 1 facility. This is a backfill position supporting 30B, 30R, PEI2, and MIE Non-Diamond scope under the ALDPI / PI-PROJ / LIP / Late Installs organization. You will manage project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, NNSA, and DOE 413.3B requirements, working within control accounts and work packages that define tasks necessary to meet programmatic objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOversee technical requirements and manage project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risksSupport, and at times lead, the project team in planning, tracking, and executing scope from initiation through turnoverManage project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, NNSA, and DOE 413.3B requirementsReport to the Manager of Projects (MOP) and oversee day-to-day administrative and operational management of an assigned project/program areaDevelop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards related to construction and work execution within a nuclear facilitySupport development and monitoring of program budgetsProvide technical guidance to project teams, support departments, and matrixed resourcesCoordinate and communicate effectively between representatives of construction, operations, and support organizations, including radiological control, criticality/nuclear, and occupational safetySupport active D&D, construction, testing, and turnover activities performed under Nuclear Quality Assurance-1 (NQA-1) requirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupationPrior nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience requiredRecent and relevant experience with security/classification protocols in a DOE and/or NNSA setting where active D&D, construction, testing, and turnover was performed under NQA-1 requirementsExtensive experience working compliantly within strict nuclear security and classification environmentsActive DOE Q Clearance requiredAbility to obtain A-Level AccessPREFERRED BACKGROUNDPrior construction experience, particularly supporting work in a nuclear facilityWork planning and controls experienceEffective coordination and communication between construction, operations, and support organizations such as radiological control, criticality/nuclear/occupational safetyPrior experience, operations or project related, in a DOE or NNSA laboratory settingWORK ENVIRONMENTDOE Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 1 nuclear facility (TA-55)Driving expected; government or private vehicle use as requiredFull-time position from the startOpportunity for long-term extension and potential conversionWHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUTThis is an opportunity to lead critical construction and turnover activities at one of the nation's premier nuclear security laboratories, working closely with project, operations, and safety organizations to deliver mission-critical scope under the highest standards of nuclear quality assurance and security.
