Admissions Coordinator
Job Description
Position Summary:
Calvert County Nursing Center is looking for an Admissions Coordinator that will assist the Admissions Director with meeting census goals by working with the facility’s clinical team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing the facility's customer flow, admissions process, referral management and admission sign-in, through post-admissions, and fulfill duties in a way that promotes resident dignity and demonstrates a positive image to residents, families, visitors, and peers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be a great communicator
Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
2 - 3 years of experience in an Admissions/Marketing in a healthcare environment
Long-Term care experience required
Knowledge of Medicare and 3rd party billing
Knowledge of medical terminology
Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service skills
Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required

Must be able to travel locally by personal automobile as required
Essential Functions:
Records information concerning inquires, admissions, and discharges and assists with daily census reports.
Assists with keeping daily and monthly records of census, matching up the numbers with the Business Office to ensure accuracy.
Follow up with all referrals in a timely manner.
Schedules and conducts facility tours for customers, families, and referrals.
In accordance with the Admission Sign-In policy and procedure, make sure all paperwork is signed and distributed appropriately.
Work closely with the Admissions Director, Administrator, and others clinical staff involved in maintaining consistent admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Review performance statistics including customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges, and sales activity.
Assists with promotions, publications, and newsletters, etc.
Participates and assists in the coordination of presentations about the facility or other appropriate topics to hospitals, physicians, and other potential referral sources.

Participates in meetings and serves as the point-of-contact when the Admissions Director is out of the office attending facility business meetings.

Work Schedule:
Week #1 (Monday - Friday)(8:00AM - 4:30PM or 8:30AM- 5:00PM)
Week #2 (Wednesday - Sunday)(8:00AM - 4:30PM or 8:30AM- 5:00PM)
