The Goddard School of Flemington is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and experienced Universal Pre-K (UPK) Assistant Teacher to join our team in partnership with the Flemington-Raritan School District. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of New Jersey's expanding Universal Preschool Program, providing high-quality early childhood education that prepares children for kindergarten and lifelong success.

The Universal Pre-K Assistant Teacher will support the lead teacher in planning and implementing high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards while working collaboratively with the Flemington-Raritan School District.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Assist with implementing the Pyramid Model to promote positive social-emotional development and classroom behavior.
  • Assist in utilizing Teaching Strategies GOLD® to observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress.
  • Support implementation of Tools of the Mind instructional practices to strengthen executive functioning, self-regulation, literacy, and school readiness skills.
  • Differentiate instructions to meet the individual needs of all learners.
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families through ongoing communication.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate student records, assessments, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with school district personnel, administrators, instructional coaches, and support staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and district training.
  • Ensure compliance with all New Jersey Department of Education regulations, state licensing requirements, and program standards.
  • Support an inclusive classroom culture that values diversity and respect.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, stand, sit, kneel and bend.
