Senior Building Enclosure Technician
Job Description
Role: Full-Time Technician with responsibilities consisting of:
- Investigations: Assist with investigative surveys of roofing, glazing, and waterproofing components to identify deterioration and probable sources of water infiltration. With supervision, assist with reports of observations and findings with recommendations and cost estimates.
- Design: Provide design phase assistance generating building envelope-related plans, elevations, and details, assist with review of specifications.
- Bidding: Attend pre-bid meetings to assist with documentation and generation of minutes for review and issue.
- Construction: Provide construction phase activities under supervision, including attendance at pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, performing site visits, and generating reports of observations for review.
- Testing: Perform field performance testing related to the building envelope.
- Education: Attend educational seminars and other professional development courses paid for by the company and as approved by your supervisor.
Experience: Applicants for this position should have the following qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments
- Minimum 1 year of experience in envelope consulting or construction
- Two (2) year associate’s degree in an architectural, engineering, or construction-related field, or four (4) year bachelor's degree in an unrelated field
- Experience that is not required, however encouraged:
- Experience working in architectural, engineering, or construction-related field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam software
- Registered Roof Observer (IIBEC Certification) preferred
Travel: If located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, must be willing to travel to Austin for initial training (full-time for two to six weeks, depending on experience). Alternatively, if located in the Austin area, must be willing to travel to the DFW/North Texas area 50% of the work week (approximately 2-3 days per week) consistently for the first year.
Supplies and Training: The company will provide all necessary PPE, equipment, and training as required for you to complete work assignments.
Base Pay: Ranging from $70,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on candidate experience, certifications, and skills.
Paid Time Off: The following eight (8) hour days of paid time off, for a total of thirty (30) days in each calendar year, are included:
- Holidays: Eight (8) days per year, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2 days), Christmas (2 days)
- Vacation/Personal Time: Twenty-two (22) days per year, 8 hours per day.
Bonuses: Future annual bonuses will be based on employee and company performance.
Reimbursable Expenses: In addition to the benefits and base pay described above, we will reimburse the following work-related expenses:
- Tolls: at cost
- Mileage: $0.73/mile (IRS published rate for 2026)
- Other Approved Expenses: at cost
