BUSSER - STEAKHOUSE- PT

OVERVIEW:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for keeping the wait staff supplied with appropriate quantities of dishware, flatware, food supplies and paper products, serving bread and water to each table, prebuss serviceware, clear tables, reset tables, manage the dirty linen, polish and stock glassware and silverware.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.

• Provides superior guest service, positively effects interactions with guests and team members, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.

• Anticipates, identifies, and provides for guest needs.

• Receives clean china, silverware and glassware from dishwashers and stocks properly.

• Maintains stock and line areas in a clean and orderly fashion; sets up stations, carts and equipment for the dining room.

• Carries full, sorted trays or bus tubs to dishwashing area and sort properly.

• Assist the servers, food runners, or bartenders with execution of their duties as business dictates.

• Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.

• Perform work regularly and predictably.

• Participate in tableside preparation and service of food and beverage offerings.

• Assists with other duties at special events or parties and assisting where necessary to include but not limited to carving, cooking, setup and or teardown stations or work areas or other duties as assigned.

• Prepare and serve nonalcoholic beverages including but not limited to soda, juice, tea, coffee and espresso beverages.

• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.

• Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Attend seminars when needed.

• Actively participate in trainings and educational experiences.

• Occasionally research product and provide information to educate the service team.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or one year of food and beverage experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

• Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.

• Must successfully pass background check.

• Must successfully pass drug screening.

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

• Must have and maintain a valid food handlers certification for the state of California.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills.

• Basic Restaurant service technique.

• Safe work habits including proper lifting/carrying of heavy objects.

ABILITY TO:

• Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.

• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.

• Restock needed materials and retrieve dropped items.

• Transport trays and/or plates throughout the restaurant, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages.

• Use machines and equipment including, but not limited to: include beverage dispenser, coffee machine, espresso machine, bread warmer, dishwasher, and cart.

• Ability to stand throughout an eight- hour shift.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
