Duties and Responsibilities:
Final Inspection and Release
- Perform final inspections of outbound assemblies, repairs, shelf picks, and customer orders in accordance with approved procedures and sampling plans.
- Schedule and prioritize inspections to support operational and shipment requirements without compromising quality.
- Verify product identity, quantity, configuration, condition, tagging, documentation, packaging, and customer requirements.
- Approve conforming products for shipment and stop, hold, or segregate products that do not meet requirements.
- Document nonconformances and coordinate timely resolution with Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Quality.
- Support customer witness inspections when required.
- Inspect purchased machined mounting parts and returned material, when assigned, in accordance with applicable procedures.
Inventory Accuracy
- Review, investigate, reconcile, and approve cycle count results in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with stock checks, inventory corrections, and resolution of recurring inventory discrepancies.
- Recommend corrective actions that improve inventory accuracy and process discipline.
Calibration and Quality Records
- Maintain calibration records and monitor due dates for inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Coordinate calibration activities and confirm equipment used for inspection remains within calibration requirements.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready inspection and calibration records.
Reporting and Improvement
- Compile and distribute the monthly inspection report and maintain agreed quality metrics.
- Identify recurring defects and support root cause analysis, corrective action, and defect-prevention activities.
- Assist with inspection procedures, work instructions, quality audits, and employee training as assigned.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate quality documentation.
- Promote adherence to company quality management system requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical training in quality, manufacturing, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in industrial inspection, manufacturing, assembly, repair, warehouse operations, or quality assurance preferred.
- Experience with final inspection, inventory control or cycle counting, and calibration records preferred.
- Experience with valves, instrumentation, regulators, or similar industrial products is desirable but not required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, work instructions, assembly manuals, and basic technical drawings.
- Ability to safely use applicable inspection, measuring, diagnostic, and material-handling equipment in accordance with training and authorization.
- Ability to identify nonconforming conditions and make independent hold or release decisions within established authority.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, recordkeeping, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Customer-focused communication skills and the ability to learn a broad portfolio of valves, instrumentation, regulators, and related industrial products.
- Working proficiency with ERP systems, electronic records, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to work nonstandard hours or after hours when required.
