Overview
Under the direction of the Hermitage Cookie and Wafer Facility Sanitation Supervisor, this position is responsible for housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation throughout the facility in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule. Cleaning tasks on the Master Sanitation Schedule are performed at a defined frequency to ensure the facility is well-maintained and food safety standards are upheld to produce and store a safe, quality product. While cleaning and sanitation of production equipment is primarily conducted by the Production Operators, this position will provide support by helping to coach new and experienced employees in proper cleaning and sanitation practices, as well as performing the post-cleaning inspection of the production equipment. Both classroom and on-the-job training will be provided to support the success of the technician. This scope of this role will require the employee to work during production shutdowns.
Please note that this position will work midnight shift (6:45pm to 7:00am), but it will not be a set schedule. The days in which this employee works will be scheduled each week based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment via adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule, completing tasks assigned by management and self-directed observations
- Responsible for providing Production Personnel with chemical supplies while following safe handling practices and reinforcing chemical training program expectations
- Responsible for post-cleaning inspections of production equipment and corrective action as necessary
- Responsible for keeping the chemical room clean and orderly
- Perform deep cleaning of floor scrubbers and chemical application equipment
- Perform proper cleaning of drains in accordance with established procedures
- Responsible for inspecting and keeping common areas (breakrooms/locker rooms/rest rooms) clean and tidy throughout the shift
- Perform tasks that are dependent on weather, such as removing snow from emergency exit walkways
- Perform inventory counts on chemicals, cleaning supplies, and PPE
- Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary
- Perform, assist, oversee, and inspect the cleaning of production equipment
- Identify and accurately report defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminants
- Able to locate and apply SSOP's
- Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning and other chemicals required for the position.
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning of biohazard spills/accidents
- Operate fork-lift equipment and scissor lifts
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, steamers, industrial vacuums, and floor vacuums
- Understand and reference Safety Data sheets as required for chemical handling and education processes
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good attendance (as defined by attendance policy)
