Join the Richard Welsh Agency, a Farmers Insurance agency in Lakewood, as an Insurance Sales Producer.

Were looking for a motivated, customer-focused professional who enjoys connecting with people, identifying their needs, and helping them find the right insurance solutions. In this role, youll work with both prospective and existing customers to understand their coverage needs, explain available options, and recommend policies that provide the right protection.


The ideal candidate is confident communicating with customers, stays consistent with follow-up, and is motivated by achieving individual and team sales goals. While previous insurance experience is a plus, we also welcome candidates with backgrounds in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or other relationship-focused roles.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively connect with prospective customers through phone outreach, internet leads, referrals, networking, and agency marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with both prospective and existing customers.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend insurance products and coverage options that best fit their individual situations.
  • Prepare quotes and sell auto, home, renters, umbrella, life, and other available insurance products.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and help customers address potential coverage gaps.
  • Clearly explain coverage options, deductibles, limits, discounts, and key policy features.
  • Maintain consistent and timely follow-up with prospects throughout the sales process.
  • Address customer questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and accurately.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, opportunities, and follow-up tasks within the agencys CRM system.
  • Work toward and achieve individual activity, quote, premium, and policy sales goals.
  • Participate in agency meetings, product training, coaching sessions, and sales role-playing.
  • Generate referrals and actively seek opportunities to develop new business.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance products, underwriting guidelines, discounts, and agency sales procedures.
  • Deliver a professional, positive, and customer-focused experience at every interaction.

Requirements
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license preferred.
  • Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing and able to obtain a California Property & Casualty license within 30 days of employment.
  • Life & Health insurance license is a plus.
  • Previous experience in insurance, sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, telemarketing, or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers by phone, text, email, and in person.
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust with new customers.
  • Strong listening, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Goal-oriented and motivated by performance, incentives, and commission-based opportunities.
  • Positive, professional, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Open to feedback, coaching, training, and continuous development.
  • Confident handling customer objections and asking for the sale.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn agency software, CRM systems, and other technology platforms.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
