Job Description
Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for resident's, staff and visitors in an assisted living facility. The position plays a vital role in ensuring resident's comfort, health, and overall well -being by providing high-quality housekeeping services with compassion and attention detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean resident's rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and administrative offices according to facilities standards.
Dust, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all assigned areas on routine and as - needed basis.
Empty Trash containers and replace liners.
Launder bed linens, towels, and residents' personal laundry as needed.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning agent.
Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
Observe and report and maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual resident behavior.
Handle resident's belongings with respect and confidentiality.
Assist in preparing rooms for new residents.
Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure resident needs are being met.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping or custodial experience, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
Understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Compassionate, patient, and respectful when interacting with elderly residents.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods; ability to lift 30 Ibs.
Work Environment:
Indoor work in a healthcare and residential setting.
Exposure to cleaning agents, bodily fluids (infrequently), and potential biohazard.
Interaction with residents, families, staff and visitors.
Shifts:
Shifts include weekends only, holidays, depending on facility needs.
