Role OverviewThe Advanced Therapies Clinical Operations Manager will oversee a unified team of and partner with Shields leadership to lead the integration of services across the full ecosystem of advanced therapies (in both oncology and non-oncology service lines). The Clinical Operations Manager will cultivate a high performing team and establish and oversee care coordination and patient support workflows – ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes, patient experience, and provider satisfaction. This is a full-time position based in New York, NY. The role requires working onsite 4–5 days per week. Core ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead and manage a unified team of Cell & Gene Therapy Clinical and Non-Clinical Coordinators that will be deployed horizontally across all disease programs servicing advanced therapiesRecruit and manage the expansion of the function and train new and develop existing talent on the teamFoster a culture of collaboration and patient-centric carePartner with the Shields operations team to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for Clinical and Non-Clinical CoordinatorsSupport operations team on managing program implementation, disease state expansion, financial clearance, and product onboarding/operationalization efforts to provide an integrated and seamless patient experienceWorkflow Development and Integration:Partner with operations, technology, and Clinical and Non-Clinical Coordinator teams to develop systems and tools for management of the function, including:Developing and operationalizing workflows for internal and external patient identification, enrollment, care coordination, and support across all products, disease programs, and sites of careEstablishing data collection/tracking standards and the development of a data repository and tracking tool over timeOversee the integration of care coordination and patient support services into Oncology and other specialized disease programs including Hematology, Neurology, Dermatology, Autoimmune, Retinal, Otolaryngology, and all future advanced therapy disease statesPatient & Therapy Coordination / Facilitation OversightInterface with manufacturers as part of the onboarding process to integrate product(s) and facilitate the development of workflows for ongoing operational managementEstablish relationships and work with cross functional leaders (inpatient and outpatient medical care teams, apheresis, radiology, radiation therapy, cell therapy laboratory, OR, research teams, social work, transportation/lodging/meals partners, financial clearance, transitions of care, etc.) in oversight of patients on service and Clinical and Non-Clinical Coordinator functionsEnsure any data handled at every point throughout the patient journey is tracked in an accurate, organized, and consistent manner and made available to quality and/or data management personnelProgram & Company GrowthServe as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, other members of the health care team and external vendors regarding the management of advanced therapy patientsOpportunities to participate in the growth of the program and business unit within and outside the New York region, including participating in/travelling to the implementation/integration of programs at other health systemsParticipate in national task force with other Advanced Therapy Program Managers to share best practices across the network Credentials & RequirementsIdeal candidate will have 8+ years of oncology, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, and/or gene therapy experienceCandidate will be a highly skilled clinical leader with expertise in patient care, care coordination, and program managementRegistered Nurse licensure required – NY preferredBachelor's degree required CompensationCompetitive base salary with bonus opportunity tied to outcomes metrics, with comprehensive benefits coverage also offered.
