System Support Specialist
  • Pay: $35–$40/hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Duration: 6–12 month contract
  • Work Environment: Fully onsite

Job Details
BioPhase Solutions is looking for an experienced System Support Specialist to support the Global Systems Support team of a leading life sciences company. This individual will perform hands-on reliability and burn-in testing of laboratory instrumentation, independently troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support to a more junior team member.

Responsibilities
  • Independently perform extended burn-in, soak, and reliability testing on laboratory instrumentation.
  • Operate instruments continuously or through extended test cycles to evaluate system stability and reliability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and instrument-related errors.
  • Identify intermittent failures or performance issues that may not be detected during shorter functional testing.
  • Analyze technical issues, determine potential root causes, and communicate findings to appropriate teams.
  • Document system performance, failures, troubleshooting activities, and test results.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams to investigate and resolve instrument issues.
  • Support installation, qualification, troubleshooting, and release activities associated with laboratory systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to a junior System Support Technician.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with SOPs, Quality Management System requirements, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related technical field required.
  • Previous experience working with laboratory instrumentation, technical equipment, product support, engineering, or a similar technical environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting systems involving hardware and software strongly preferred.
  • Ability to independently assess technical issues and drive troubleshooting activities.
  • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable providing guidance and support to a more junior team member.
