Job Description
Lumber Yard Material Handling Specialist

Picture your day starting with a safety huddle, inspecting a Hyster forklift, and reviewing the morning pick list. You’ll assemble accurate lumber packages, stage materials for pick-up, and greet contractors who count on you to keep their projects moving. As shipments arrive, you’ll unload freight, verify counts, and help keep the yard and warehouse neat, labeled, and ready for fast turns. When the prefab team needs a hand, you’ll jump in on wall panels, floor trusses, and wall trusses. It’s hands-on, outdoors, and fast-paced—with real opportunities to grow.

What You’ll Do
  • Assemble and bundle lumber orders with precision and speed.
  • Organize inventory throughout the yard and warehouse; maintain clear labeling and placement.
  • Assist customers loading building materials—rain, shine, heat, or cold.
  • Unload inbound freight from vendors and distributors and confirm order accuracy.
  • Log equipment maintenance and repair needs to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Follow yard safety rules and procedures at all times.
  • Support prefab production (wall panels, floor trusses, wall trusses) as needed.
  • Pitch in across the yard wherever the team needs you.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 lbs.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with forklifts, trucks, or delivery equipment is helpful.
  • Local travel up to 100 miles may be required.
