About This Role
We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Assistant Child Care Teacher to join our team at Lily Pad Learning Center!
Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
As an Assistant Child Care Teacher, you will help foster a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for young children. Working closely with the Lead Teacher and Director, you will assist in classroom management, daily caregiving routines, and implementation of early childhood education activities.
What You'll Do
- Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and daily routines
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Help create and maintain a caring and safe classroom environment
- Observe and document children’s interests and progress and communicate information with staff and families
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Assist in the implementation of curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
- Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Follow all licensing regulations and center policies
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide high-quality care and education
Requirements
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (can be completed after start of employment).
- Dependable and reliable attendance
- Must be willing to complete and pass a background check and be fingerprinted prior to being hired.
- Previous childcare experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must enjoy working with young children
