Child Care Assistant Teacher

We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Assistant Child Care Teacher to join our team at Lily Pad Learning Center!

Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

As an Assistant Child Care Teacher, you will help foster a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for young children. Working closely with the Lead Teacher and Director, you will assist in classroom management, daily caregiving routines, and implementation of early childhood education activities.

• Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and daily routines
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
• Help create and maintain a caring and safe classroom environment
• Observe and document children’s interests and progress and communicate information with staff and families
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Assist in the implementation of curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
• Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Follow all licensing regulations and center policies
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide high-quality care and education

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (can be completed after start of employment).
• Dependable and reliable attendance
• Must be willing to complete and pass a background check and be fingerprinted prior to being hired.
• Previous childcare experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must enjoy working with young children

• An understanding of child development, which would be beneficial in creating engaging and effective lesson plans.
