We transfer the warmth needed to make life work.OverviewThe Control Panels Designer will design control panels and control panel assemblies per customer specifications to successfully ensure customer satisfaction, production efficiency, and Thermon profitability. Identify design requirements from BOMs, descriptions, specifications, instructions, and Thermon quotations. Prepare drawing packages, including BOMs, layouts, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and enclosure cutouts, and support Thermon Panel Shop staff in constructing the designs. Use design software (AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, etc.) and established guidelines and procedures to design control panels. Additional work support is available from CAD Drafters.The Designer will be based out of the Thermon office in San Marcos, Texas.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign of small to medium projects or several small projects simultaneouslyCollaborate with the other designers and Project Managers, to generate drawing packagesCollaborate with customer representatives on technical issuesCreate and review drawings using AutoCAD and other softwarePrepare and review drawings for accuracyReview drawings prepared by other designersSupport production staff to ensure the physical product aligns with drawingsAdhere to Thermon procedures and guides related to quality and project executionKey Characteristics, Competencies and SkillsComputer literate - Advanced MS Office skillsAdvanced CAD, technical writing, and communication skillsWorking technical knowledge of electricity, electrical schematics and control logic, electrical control systems and components, and three phase power distributionWorking knowledge of Codes and Standards (NEC, CEC, UL 508A, etc.)Experience with Standards related to Hazardous Locations (NFPA 496, UL 121201, CSA equivalents, etc.)Ability to work autonomously and drive results, and be self-driven and motivatedAbility to work in a fast-paced work environmentSuperior teamwork skills across a multi-faceted organizationQualificationsMinimum two year's prior experience working in a manufacturing environmentAbility to interpret written/oral instructions given by supervisor(s) or assigned personnel, to carry out assigned duties, but seek advice when needed.
