Job Title: General Labor / Production Associate
Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Shift: 1st shift: 7 am – 3:30 pm
Pay Rate: $17.00
Position Summary
The General Labor / Production Associate is responsible for supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations. This includes handling raw ingredients, staging materials for blending, operating basic packaging machinery, maintaining a clean workspace, and adhering strictly to quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely lift, move, and stage bags, boxes, or drums of raw nutritional and food ingredients (up to 55 lbs consistently).
- Production Support: Assist machine operators with feeding raw materials into blending, micronization, or encapsulation equipment.
- Packaging & Palletizing: Package finished powder or liquid products into specified containers, seal them, apply accurate labels, and stack finished goods onto pallets.
- Quality & Safety (GMP): Strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and facility safety protocols to avoid cross-contamination.
- Sanitation: Clean and sanitize production equipment, mixing rooms, and general warehouse areas between product batches to prevent allergen cross-contact.
- Documentation: Accurately complete basic logs, batch records, or tracking sheets as required by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environment is a plus; experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical packaging is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow precise recipes/instructions, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8 to 12-hour shifts).
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, reaching above the shoulders, and repetitive wrist movements.
- Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Environment: Production areas may have moderate levels of airborne powder dust and strong food/flavor aromas. Must be comfortable wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hairnets, beard covers, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and respirators or masks when necessary.
