Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.


General Summary:


Provides medication management services to the sites of Zepf Center. Provides advocacy, linking, managing of SUD symptoms, evaluation of medication, clinical and nursing service.


Schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 8:00 am - 4:00 pm




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follows the terms of the agreed upon Standard Care Arrangement and maintains appropriate licensure and continuing education requirements for role as APN or PA - State of Ohio.
  • Collaborates, as required by State Law and by the Standard Care Arrangement, with their Collaborating Physician at Zepf, regarding treatment issues as appropriate.
  • Provides medical services and addiction medicine, diagnoses, and treatment of clients, providing ongoing monitoring of all treatments provided, and assesses the results of lab work, taking appropriate action as required.
  • Prescribes and monitors the use of medications as indicated and appropriate within the scope of their license and the rules of Advanced Practice Nursing and its current formulary as designated by Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 4723-9 or as a or Physician Assistant as designated by Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 4730.
  • Provides other treatment procedures, as credentialed.
  • Responds to emergency situations, as necessary.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation and authentication of clinically related documents; including admission assessments, med/somatic progress notes and treatment plans, medication orders, and other paperwork associated with medical care.
  • Contributes time, skills, and expertise to a member of the Zepf Medical staff to address, collaborate and resolve clinical and treatment issues in order to maintain the quality of clinical services.
  • Participates in Medical Services Team meetings and other developmental/organizational functions as time permits and supervisor determines.
  • Follows all relevant Zepf policies and procedures and maintains client confidentiality as required by law.
  • Educates client and legally permitted family/community service providers regarding symptoms, diagnoses, and course of treatments.
  • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth. Participates in necessary nursing, medical, and Zepf mandated educational activities, required for sustaining licensure, meeting Zepf policy, and sustaining clinical competency.
  • Participates, as time or necessity permits, in agency-wide projects and/or Zepf sponsored community activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Position Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice nursing and have met the qualifications for a certified practicing APN-CNS, ANP, FNP or PMHNP or PA.
  • Must have prescriptive authority with a valid DEA Registration
  • Must have at least two years relevant professional experience
  • Must be able to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use and able to handle a high usage of the computer.
