Now, we're launching the Safer Pathways Center, an innovative behavioral and mental health treatment facility, and we're looking for a senior-level IT Infrastructure Architect with clinical healthcare experience to help build the secure, reliable technology foundation that will support exceptional patient care and transform lives.

This is a rare opportunity to help design and support the technology infrastructure for a startup clinical healthcare organization while partnering with one of the nation's leading nonprofit reentry organizations.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Healthcare IT Infrastructure Architect, you'll serve as the technical lead responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting the infrastructure that powers both the Safer Pathways Center and Safer Foundation.

You will:

  • Design and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, policies, etc.), cloud environments, and Microsoft technologies
    • Own HIPAA / HITECH / IL 42 CFR Part 2 technical compliance and risk assessment (e.g., HHS SRA Tool) activities, and manage remediation/risk-management plans.
    • Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, and related enterprise technologies.
    • Manage portfolio of data protection and cybersecurity tools to maintain overall security posture for Safer Pathways Center.
    • Support business continuity through disaster recovery, backups, monitoring, and infrastructure resilience.
    • Partner with clinical, operational, and technology leaders to deliver innovative, secure solutions that support patient care and organizational success.
    • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and security issues while driving continuous improvement across the technology environment.

    What You'll Bring

    We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure professional who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for solving complex challenges.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • 7+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
    • Experience supporting healthcare or other HIPAA-regulated environments.
    • Strong expertise in physical network design and administration, including:
      • Switch and firewall configuration
      • SD-WAN circuit configuration
      • Secure Wi-Fi administration
      • VPN administration
      • Cybersecurity threat protection
    • Proficiency with a wide range of Microsoft products, including Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory.
    • Strong understanding of identity and access management, encryption, audit logging, endpoint protection, email security, and security incident response.
    • Working knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule safeguards, 42 CFR Part 2, and Illinois state behavioral health confidentiality requirements (Illinois 740 ILCS 110), and how they affect system design, consent, and disclosure.
    • A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering secure, reliable technology solutions.
    Certifications

    %E6; Required: MCSA (or equivalent Microsoft role-based certification), CCNA or COMPTIAN+

    %E6; Preferred (one or more): HCISPP (HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner), CHPS (Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security), CISSP, CISA.
