About This Role
The Teacher Assistant role plays a vital part in supporting the Teachers and the Director in maintaining a safe, caring environment for children, and participating in activities that enhance the overall quality of care and education. Effective teamwork, open communication, and collaboration are essential in this position. As a key member of the team, the Teacher Assistant works closely with staff to establish positive relationships with children and colleagues, while observing and documenting children's progress and interests. This role also involves implementing engaging activities tailored to children's needs and interests under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.
This position is available in our Infant/Toddler Environment.
What You'll Do
- In conjunction with Teachers and the Director, assist in planning and implementing curricula activities that foster participation among children, promoting a culture of engagement and inclusivity.
- Proactively engage in activities, ensuring the cleanliness, order, and accessibility of classroom materials for all children.
- Model behavior that promotes self-help and good hygiene among children, recognizing the importance of social and emotional development.
- Adhere to all school policies and state regulations, prioritizing a safe and supportive environment.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, driving continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
- Proof of Negative TB Test
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
