OVERVIEWHendall Inc., a mission-focused professional services firm based in Rockville, MD, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Level II to support the operations, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of a mission-critical federal information system. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing software solutions for existing applications and new capabilities within a complex enterprise technology environment.DUTIESAnalyze, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise software applicationsDevelop new application functionality and modify existing applications to address enhancements, defects, and changing requirementsDevelop and maintain Java-based applications, APIs, integrations, scripts, and automated processesTroubleshoot application defects and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutionsSupport software upgrades, patches, technology refreshes, and application modernization activitiesDevelop and maintain integrations between applications, databases, APIs, workflows, and external systemsParticipate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenanceMaintain application code and technical artifacts using source control and configuration management practicesSupport software builds, deployment packages, and releases across development, test, pre-production, and production environmentsPerform unit, functional, regression, integration, performance, load, and user acceptance testingDevelop and maintain system design, test, release, deployment, and other required technical documentationProvide advanced troubleshooting support for complex application and production issuesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSExperience developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise software applicationsExperience with Java-based application developmentExperience developing APIs, integrations, and application interfacesExperience troubleshooting production applications and performing root cause analysisExperience with relational databases and SQLExperience with source control, configuration management, software builds, and release processesExperience with software testing, including unit, integration, and regression testingStrong understanding of software development lifecycle practicesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skillsAbility to satisfy federal background investigation and badging requirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Java 21, Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or comparable enterprise Java technologiesExperience with Oracle WebLogic and Oracle databasesExperience developing REST APIs and web-based applicationsExperience with Angular or comparable front-end technologiesExperience with AWS or other cloud environmentsExperience with GitLab, JIRA, ServiceNow, or comparable development toolsExperience supporting high-availability or mission-critical applicationsExperience supporting federal government information systemsSalary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 per yearFor a complete listing of benefits, please visit our careers page at www.hendall.com/careersHendall Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
