What You'll DoAs a Child Care Teacher at Mountain Valley ELC, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Child Supervision & Safety- Actively supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios.
- Create a clean, welcoming, and secure classroom environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or illnesses while following health and safety procedures.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences.
- Encourage exploration, play, and creativity through activities like art, literacy, sensory play, outdoor play, music, and movement.
- Support each child’s unique developmental needs and document their progress.
- Establish consistent routines and positive expectations for behavior.
- Foster an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
- Keep learning materials and classroom spaces organized and engaging.
- Build trusting relationships with families by providing daily updates on their child’s activities and development.
- Address concerns professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Work closely with fellow teachers and leadership to create a positive learning environment.
- Assist with classroom responsibilities, staff meetings, and center-wide events.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Complete accurate documentation and follow Montana childcare licensing regulations.
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and use center software for attendance and communication.
We’re seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications:
Required- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in childcare or early childhood education.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move throughout the day.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Quick response capability during emergencies.
