Job Summary
Resorts at Chester River Manor is seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook to join our Dietary Team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for residents while following all dietary guidelines, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving seniors and creating a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and resident dietary requirements.
Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served according to established standards.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage areas.
Monitor food temperatures and document as required.
Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
Work closely with the Dietary Manager and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Ensure meals are served in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with special events, holiday meals, and catering functions as needed.
Qualifications
Previous cooking experience required; long-term care, nursing home, healthcare, or institutional cooking experience preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be reliable, punctual, and resident-focused.
