Job Description
About Athlete To Athlete
Athlete to Athlete is a fast-growing, venture-backed start-up based in Santa Monica that offers Athletic Mentorship and Coaching Programs for youth athletes. In our programs, student-athletes are paired with a current Division 1 College-Athlete Mentor who plays their sport and can help build their confidence, taking their game to the next level. Our mission is to build the next generation of driven, confident, and resilient student-athletes through mentorship.
About The Role

SDR will own the top of the sales funnel by converting inbound and outbound leads into qualified meetings for the Account Executive.

This is an on-site position based in Santa Monica, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outbound and inbound outreach—calls, texts, and emails—to prospective families.
  • Qualify each lead in a single conversation by understanding the athlete's profile, goals, timeline, and budget.
  • Book qualified consultations directly onto the Account Executive's calendar.
  • Confirm appointments and send reminders to reduce no-shows.
  • Move unqualified leads to the Retired Lead list with accurate disposition reasons.
  • Provide complete notes so the Account Executive never starts a call cold.
Qualifications

We care far more about attitude, work ethic, and potential than years of experience. The ideal candidate is looking to build a long-term career in sales.

Required

    • Bachelor's degree (or graduating within the next few months).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls every day.
    • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
    • Comfortable learning CRM systems and sales technology.

What Will Make You Successful

  • You love talking to people. You're energized by conversations and aren't afraid to call someone you've never met.
  • You handle rejection well. You understand that hearing "no" is simply part of the job and quickly move on to the next opportunity.
  • You're coachable. You actively seek feedback and improve your conversations, objection handling, and sales process.
  • You're competitive. Whether through sports, academics, work, or personal goals, you're motivated by achieving measurable results.
  • You stay organized. Every lead receives timely follow-up, accurate notes, and a clear next step.
  • You take ownership. You treat every lead like it's your own business and care about creating a great experience for every family.
  • You're dependable. Account Executives know they can rely on you to consistently deliver qualified meetings with complete context.
Nice to Have
  • Internship or part-time sales experience.
  • Competitive athletic background
  • Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, recruiting, or another customer-facing role.
  • Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM.
  • Passion for youth and college sports.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission.
  • Target OTE: $72,000 in Year 1.
  • Equity grant.
  • Clear promotion path to Senior Sales Development Representative and Account Executive.

Why Join Athlete To Athlete
