We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Administrative Assistant for a 3-month temporary assignment supporting a fast-paced Human Resources department within a manufacturing environment.


This position will provide administrative support across several HR functions, including employee documentation, data tracking, filing, recruiting and onboarding, compliance, and general HR operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Excel skills, experience working with an ATS, HRIS, or similar employee management system, and the ability to manage confidential information accurately and professionally.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized personnel files, grievance records, investigation documentation, training records, and compliance documents.
  • Track and update grievance activity, deadlines, responses, and related documentation.
  • Enter and update employee information, attendance records, status changes, and other HR data within HRIS/ATS systems.
  • Create, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets used for HR reporting and data tracking.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and new-hire documentation and assist with orientation coordination.
  • Track training completion and maintain accurate, audit-ready HR and compliance records.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and distribute employee communications and materials.
  • Schedule meetings, manage calendars, prepare correspondence, and assist with HR projects as needed.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the HR department.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of HR administrative, HR support, or general office experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience using an ATS, HRIS, or similar employee database/system.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately manage and track large amounts of documentation and data.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or union environment is a plus.
Work Environment

This position supports an HR department within a fast-paced manufacturing facility with a union workforce. The role may occasionally require communication with employees working different shifts.
