1. Provides comprehensive patient care and consultation.
- Performs patient evaluations through detailed medical histories and physical examinations.
- Counsels patients on reproductive health, including contraception, fertility, and family planning options.
- Educates patients on preventive healthcare, recommended screenings, and lifestyle modifications that support overall wellness.
- Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats gynecologic conditions, including infections, menstrual disorders, and menopause-related concerns.
2. Provides obstetrical care throughout pregnancy and delivery.
- Manages routine and high-risk pregnancies from prenatal care through postpartum follow-up.
- Performs prenatal evaluations and monitors maternal and fetal well-being, including ultrasound interpretation as appropriate.
- Discusses birth plans, labor expectations, pain management options, and delivery preparation with patients.
- Performs vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, when indicated, while prioritizing the safety of both mother and infant.
3. Performs gynecologic procedures and surgical services.
- Diagnoses and manages gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, and related disorders.
- Performs minimally invasive and open gynecologic procedures, including hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures, and myomectomies.
- Conducts routine preventive screenings, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, and cervical cancer screening.
- Evaluates and manages reproductive health concerns, including infertility, hormone replacement therapy, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
4. Responds to obstetrical and gynecologic emergencies.
- Evaluates and manages obstetric and gynecologic emergencies, including complications of pregnancy and labor.
- Provides timely medical care for conditions such as ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, preeclampsia, and other urgent reproductive health concerns.
- Stabilizes patients experiencing pregnancy-related or gynecologic emergencies and coordinates additional care when appropriate.
5. Maintains complete and accurate medical documentation.
- Documents patient evaluations, treatment plans, procedures, surgical interventions, and clinical outcomes in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential medical records.
- Ensures documentation supports quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
6. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Works closely with nurses, advanced practice providers, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Consults with specialty providers and facilitates referrals when additional expertise or services are needed.
- Communicates effectively with hospital staff regarding patient care, discharge planning, and ongoing treatment recommendations.
7. Participates in continuing education and professional development.
- Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Participates in continuing medical education (CME) activities and professional development opportunities.
- Supports the education and mentorship of students, residents, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
8. Promotes women's health and patient advocacy.
- Encourages preventive healthcare and supports initiatives that improve women's health outcomes.
- Provides compassionate, patient-centered care while addressing both the physical and emotional needs of patients.
- Participates in community education and outreach activities that promote awareness of reproductive health, prenatal care, cancer screenings, and family planning.
9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
