Specialty: Special Education - Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

Grade Level: Primary - Middle

Pay: Negotiable
Hours: 8am-2pm
Temporary Position through June 1, 2027

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs and instruction for special needs students in both self-contained and integrated settings in consultation with other school personnel. The employee is also responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program for students with autism spectrum disorders and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in laws and policies.

Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) - group of developmental disabilities characterized by atypical development in socialization, communication, and behavior.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Teaching Certificate from the State of Florida with proper certification.
  • Secondary ESE teaching certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background screening is required.
  • Access to reliable transportation


EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Experience in educating special needs students (or ability to learn)
  • Proven effective classroom and student behavior management skills.
  • Mentoring (Preferred)
  • Tutoring (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of State, local and federal regulations and policies affecting special education.
  • Working knowledge of educational technology applications



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:

Applicants must have a valid teaching certificate or current Statement of Eligibility issued by FLDOE.
