About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team at Little Owls Child Care Center. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to early childhood education and a love for working with children ages 3–5 years old. In this role, you will create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that fosters school readiness and supports the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of our young students.



What You'll Do

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes school readiness and supports the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of children ages 3–5 years old
  • Developing and implementing weekly curriculum and age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate learning and creativity
  • Teaching basic early learning skills, including letters, numbers, colors, shapes, writing, and social skills, through hands-on activities, art, music, sensory play, story time, and outdoor play
  • Assisting children with bathroom routines and personal care needs when necessary, and promoting independence, listening skills, and positive classroom behavior
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, and ensuring the health and well-being of all children in our care
  • Communicating professionally with parents regarding daily activities, behavior, and developmental progress
  • Documenting children’s progress and development, and monitoring their progress throughout the year
  • Taking children outdoors daily for playground time, walks, and educational outdoor activities when weather permits
  • Fulfilling all childcare licensing regulations and center policies, and performing other duties and assigned tasks as requested by the Center Director


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass required background checks
  • Passion for early childhood education and child development
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative, patient, dependable, and able to work well with others
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively participate in classroom activities throughout the day
  • Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors

Physical Requirements

  • Experience working with preschool-age children preferred
