Early Childhood Head Teacher

Manhattan Day School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school on the Upper West Side, is seeking a warm, talented, and experienced Early Childhood Head Teacher to join our growing EC team.

Our Early Childhood program is rooted in relationship-based learning, developmentally responsive practice, joyful exploration, and strong partnership with families. We are looking for an educator who brings intention, creativity, and a deep understanding of early childhood development to the classroom.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading a classroom community with warmth, consistency, and thoughtful structure

• Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate, engaging curriculum

• Supporting each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth

• Collaborating closely with assistant teachers, specialists, and administrators

• Communicating regularly with families and contributing to a positive school culture

• Participating in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Master’s preferred)

• 2–5+ years of classroom teaching experience in early childhood

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Deep knowledge of child development and play-based learning

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, joyful EC environment
