About This Role
The ideal candidate for this role will develop a cohesive teaching team, coordinate the curriculum, and oversee daily classroom operations. They will create an engaging and stimulating environment where children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth can thrive. This individual must be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents, and possess excellent leadership and organizational skills.
What You'll Do
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that fosters children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth through age-appropriate activities and developmentally sensitive practices.
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents, ensuring they are informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills to guide the teaching team towards achieving success.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets early learning standards, promoting active engagement and learning.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, and prioritize ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe, secure, and compliant with state regulations and center policies.
- Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to address concerns and discuss progress.
Requirements
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification or willing to get it.
