Every day as a Teacher you will:

  • Provide instruction in the classroom while incorporating musical and art elements
  • Plan and implement instructional art and music programs for students with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Instruct assigned students in creative art and music skills necessary for development.
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree. Connecticut Teacher Certification.

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children with emotional support/behavioral health needs.

Devereux Connecticut offers a specialized, independent and co-educational boarding and day school for students, ages 10 to 22, in grades five through 12+, living with social, emotional and/or academic differences. As part of our continuum of care, we also provide residential, day and transitional programs and services for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.
