Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support our production operations by ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electronics and mechanical systems, along with a commitment to continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. This technician will work with all other departments to help streamline the release of products and ensure that the equipment released meets manufacturing expectations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair test equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, documenting all maintenance activities.
Collaborate with teams to support daily production activities and resolve any technical issues.
Assist engineering teams in the release of new products, fixtures, and modifications to existing products.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and implement improvements in manufacturing performance and product quality.
Apply Kaizen and Lean techniques to streamline processes and reduce waste within operations.
Contribute to the development and implementation of automation solutions to enhance production efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, processes, and equipment specifications.
Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and their application in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with product development processes and collaboration with engineering teams.
Demonstrated understanding of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing principles; certification in Lean methodologies is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field; bachelordegree preferred.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electronic systems.
Experience with automation technologies and their application in a manufacturing context is highly desirable.
Experience working with quality assurance to drive improvements in manufacturing performance.
