Job Summary:
The Gardens By Morningstar, a family-owned and operated Assisted Living Residence in Oswego, New York, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA Personal Care Aide to join our team. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
Encourage and reinforce the need for a safe environment, recognizing potential hazards and reporting concerns to supervisors
Involve residents and families in care decisions, promoting self-determination and independence
Explain care procedures to residents, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with their care plan
Recognize and report any abuse or neglect potential
Provide feedback and suggestions for changes to the care plan
Assist with daily living activities, such as eating, bathing, dressing, and grooming
Report any changes in residents' mental and physical conditions to the supervisor
Follow established policies, procedures, and documentation standards
Maintain a clean and safe environment, reporting any issues to environmental services
Requirements:
Current HHA or PCA certification
Minimum of 0 years of experience
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents, with or without the use of assistive devices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to and from work locations
