Real Estate Business Development Associate
Position Summary
The Real Estate Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities that support the company’s growth across real estate acquisitions, property management, commercial brokerage, leasing, and related services. This position focuses heavily on prospecting, relationship development, lead generation, market research, and converting opportunities into new clients, properties, and revenue.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated relationship builder with strong communication skills, a business-development mindset, and an interest in the real estate industry.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, direct outreach, and market research.
· Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective property owners, investors, developers, commercial clients, and other real estate contacts.
· Research property owners, investment groups, developers, and potential clients to identify opportunities for the company.
· Conduct cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and other forms of direct business development.
· Schedule and conduct introductory meetings with prospective clients and business partners.
· Follow up consistently with prospects and maintain accurate records of all business development activities.
· Convert qualified prospects into new management agreements, brokerage opportunities, acquisition opportunities, and other revenue-generating relationships.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain long-term relationships with property owners, investors, developers, brokers, vendors, and other industry professionals.
· Serve as a professional representative of the company during networking events, property meetings, industry events, and client interactions.
· Develop referral relationships with real estate professionals, lenders, attorneys, contractors, insurance professionals, and other strategic partners.
· Maintain regular communication with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
Real Estate Market Development
· Monitor local real estate markets to identify properties, owners, and emerging business opportunities.
· Research properties and ownership information to identify potential management, brokerage, acquisition, or leasing opportunities.
· Analyze market trends, rental rates, property performance, and competitive positioning.
· Assist with preparing market research, property evaluations, presentations, proposals, and business development materials.
· Identify opportunities for expanding the company’s presence into new markets or service areas.
Sales & Deal Support
· Qualify potential opportunities and determine the appropriate company service or solution.
· Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, management agreements, listing materials, and other sales documents.
· Coordinate with property management, brokerage, accounting, maintenance, and leadership teams to support the transition of new business.
· Track prospects from initial contact through closing and onboarding.
· Assist leadership with negotiations and deal preparation as needed.
· Maintain accurate pipeline and sales activity reporting.
Performance & Growth
· Meet or exceed established business development and lead-generation goals.
· Track key performance indicators including calls, contacts, meetings, qualified leads, proposals, new clients, and closed opportunities.
· Provide regular reports to management regarding pipeline activity, opportunities, and business development results.
· Continuously identify new strategies for generating leads and increasing revenue.
Qualifications
· 1–3 years of experience in real estate, sales, business development, property management, brokerage, or a related field preferred.
· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to confidently communicate with property owners, investors, executives, and other professionals.
· Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
· Strong prospecting and relationship-building abilities.
