The primary purpose of the Housekeeper is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. The Housekeeper is responsible for helping ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner for residents, visitors, and staff.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily housekeeping services with other departments to ensure efficient operations throughout the facility
Perform routine cleaning assignments in resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, and common areas
Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the facility
Follow proper safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required
Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize assigned areas according to facility procedures
Collect and dispose of trash and waste in accordance with established policies
Restock housekeeping supplies, paper products, and toiletries as needed
Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, supply rooms, and storage areas in an organized manner
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor
Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff requests
Attend required in-service training and staff meetings
Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and infection control practices preferred
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions
Must be able to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in various environmental conditions within the facility
