Schedule: Fridays & Saturdays, 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Job Type: Per Diem

About the Position

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dialysis Transporter to safely transport nursing home residents to and from their scheduled dialysis treatments. The Dialysis Transporter will also assist the dialysis team with patient transfers, stocking supplies, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and providing basic clerical support.

Responsibilities
  • Safely transport residents between the nursing home and dialysis center according to their scheduled treatment times.

  • Assist dialysis staff with safely transferring patients to and from transport chairs and dialysis chairs.

  • Ensure transport equipment is clean and in good working condition.

  • Maintain and transport required patient communication documentation.

  • Stock and organize dialysis supplies and assist with receiving deliveries and inventory.

  • Clean and disinfect dialysis areas, chairs, floors, bathrooms, waiting areas, and other assigned areas.

  • Properly dispose of garbage, biohazard materials, and sharps according to facility procedures.

  • Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff.

  • Assist with basic clerical duties such as faxing, filing, copying, admissions registration, and preparing lab bags.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dialysis environment.

  • Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to residents, families, visitors, and staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Reliable and dependable with strong communication skills.

  • Compassionate and comfortable working with elderly and medically fragile patients.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Ability to safely push and maneuver transport chairs with patients.

  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch, reach, and twist as required.

  • Ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Previous healthcare, nursing home, dialysis, patient transport, or environmental services experience is a plus.
