The Teacher Assistant plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing environment for children, collaborating closely with Teachers and the Director to enhance the overall quality of education and care. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential skills for this position, which also involves documenting children's progress and sharing it with parents and staff. In close partnership with Teachers and the Director, Teacher Assistants design activities tailored to children's interests and needs, ensuring a rich and engaging learning experience.
What You'll Do
- Support the Teachers and Director in implementing educational programs and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Engage actively in various activities, ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and accessibility of classroom materials.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Model good hygiene and self-help skills for the children.
- Ensure a smooth transition from home to child care center.
- Comply with all center policies and state regulations.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to continually improve quality.
Requirements
- Must pass a full background check and clear health screening.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Available to work Monday through Friday only.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High energy level.
- Ability to work well with others.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma.
