About This Role

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm


As a key member of our team, the Floater teacher plays a vital role in creating a nurturing and safe environment for the children. They assist in activities that enhance the overall care and quality of education, and work closely with Teachers and the Director to achieve this goal. Effective communication, active listening, and collaboration are essential in this team-based environment. The Teacher Assistant observes and documents children's interests and progress, and shares this information with parents and staff. They are responsible for planning developmentally appropriate activities based on children's needs and interests, under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.



What You'll Do

  • Support the implementation of curriculum activities and encourage children to participate.
  • Take an active role in classroom activities and ensure the availability of materials, while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Model good hygiene and self-help practices for the children.
  • Assist with the daily transition from home to child care center, ensuring a smooth process.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to continuously improve the quality of care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director to meet the needs of the center.
  • Transport children in center vehicles when necessary.


Requirements

  • Must pass a health screening.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Must clear full background check & TB Test.
  • Begin immediately
  • High energy.
  • Have childcare experience in a classroom setting
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Be dependable, reliable, flexible, with a positive personality
