Housekeeper – Environmental Services
Location: Little Falls Health Services – Little Falls, MN
Status: Full Time


Wage Range: $14.05–$15.37/hour, depending on experience
Department: Environmental Services

About the Role
Little Falls Health Services is seeking a dependable Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports daily housekeeping needs throughout the care center while following infection control, safety, and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect, dust, polish, and clean surfaces as needed.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste according to established procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Restock supplies and notify a supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Follow infection control procedures, including proper handling of infectious waste and use of cleaning solutions.
• Report safety concerns, maintenance needs, burned-out lights, or defective equipment to a supervisor.
• Complete assigned cleaning tasks in accordance with facility standards and daily work assignments.

Safety Responsibilities
• Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and hazardous chemical handling procedures.
• Use personal protective equipment when required.
• Participate in required training, in-services, fire drills, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Report accidents, exposures, unsafe conditions, or unusual incidents promptly.
• Use proper body mechanics and operate equipment safely.

Attendance and Training
• Attend required department meetings, staff meetings, training sessions, and onboarding activities.
• Provide appropriate notice when an absence is necessary.
• Be willing to work weekends, alternate shifts, or additional hours when needed.

Qualifications
• Minimum 8th grade education preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for work-related communication.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Positive, friendly, and respectful attitude toward residents, visitors, families, and coworkers.
• Ability to work well with others and support a team environment.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and the Corporate Compliance Program Code of Conduct.
• Ability to operate basic equipment such as alarms, call light systems, walkie talkies, or pagers, if provided.
• Must respect resident rights, privacy, and property.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to move throughout the workday, including walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and use proper body mechanics.
• Ability to push, pull, move, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds as required.
• Ability to work in areas where exposure to cleaning products, disinfectants, dust, odors, and other environmental conditions may occur.
• May be needed to assist during emergency situations, including resident evacuation.

Benefits and Eligibility:

Employees with an Employee Type of Benefit Eligible>60 hours/PP, that are regularly scheduled 60 hours or more per pay period, are eligible to enroll in benefits on the first of the month following or coinciding with 60 days.
