Job Description
A confidential healthcare organization is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for an established outpatient behavioral-health practice in Northwest Indiana, near Oak Lawn and the greater Chicagoland area.
The position is focused on psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and medication management, with a manageable average outpatient volume of 14–16 patients per day. Candidates will have experienced clinical support staff, collegial physician support, and access to a comprehensive continuum of care.
The schedule includes flexible full-time daytime practice, weekday call only, and no evening or night call. The organization offers an income guarantee with incentives, recruitment and retention packages, relocation support, paid malpractice, CME, and retirement benefits.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents in an outpatient setting.
- Provide ongoing medication management and treatment planning.
- Build therapeutic, long-term relationships with patients and families.
- Maintain an outpatient volume averaging 14–16 patients per day.
- Collaborate with behavioral-health and medical staff to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in the weekday call rotation.
- Support a high-quality, patient-centered behavioral-health program.
Schedule
- Full-time; 40 scheduled hours weekly
- Day shift
- Flexible full-time schedule
- Weekday call rotation: 1:4
- No evening or night call
- Telepsychiatry covers evening and night call during the week and on weekends
- Travel: never or rarely
Minimum Qualifications
- Current MD or DO physician license, required upon hire
- Board certification in Psychiatry and Neurology, required
- Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, required
- American Heart Association BLS certification, required upon hire
