Job Description
Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator
The Sheet Metal Fabricator repairs and fabricates replacement parts and assemblies, while also designing and building custom components for production equipment. This role works primarily with various steels and may also utilize plastics, rubbers, and composite materials. The position requires strong welding and fabrication skills, the ability to work from concept to finished product, and a commitment to maintaining safety, cleanliness, and food manufacturing standards.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 7+ years of full sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Strong ability to take a concept, create a drawing or print, and build custom sheet metal products from start to finish.
- High-level proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Electric Arc welding.
- Demonstrated experience in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, and assembling metal components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and manual repair equipment.
- Proficiency in operating shop equipment such as saws, shears, grinders, drill presses, brakes, acetylene torches, plasma cutters, and welders.
- Ability to design and fabricate custom components using stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass, copper, plastic, and rubber.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment independently.
- Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with supervision and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to following safety, food safety, GMP, and SOP requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
- Familiarity with cookie baking or other food processing equipment is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a warm production environment that can become hotter in the summer.
- Ability to generate clear, accurate drawings for parts and assemblies using manual or digital methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose improvements and alternative part designs.
- Attention to detail and quality in fabrication, welding, and assembly work.
- Flexibility to work overtime and participate in weekend coverage rotations as needed
This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
