Construction Scheduler
Job Description
The Construction Scheduler develops, maintains, and optimizes critical path method (CPM) schedules for preconstruction and active projects, with a strong focus on electrical and industrial construction. This role integrates manpower, materials, subcontractor activities, and safety considerations into comprehensive master schedules, provides clear progress visibility to project teams and leadership, and supports both ongoing projects and new pursuits with accurate, data-driven planning.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules for preconstruction and active construction projects, with an emphasis on commercial, industrial, and electrical work.
- Create and manage master project schedules that integrate manpower loading, material procurement, submittals, prefabrication activities, and subcontractor schedules.
- Update project schedules regularly based on field progress and verify logic, durations, and sequencing for accuracy and constructability.
- Perform schedule quality assurance and quality control reviews and schedule health checks to ensure logic integrity and realistic sequencing.
- Track critical milestones and monitor overall progress against baseline schedules, identifying variances and potential impacts.
- Develop schedule recovery and mitigation plans when projects experience delays, and recommend strategies to bring work back on track.
- Support short‑term planning efforts, including look‑ahead schedules, production tracking, and progress analysis for field teams.
- Incorporate safety considerations and risk mitigation activities into project schedules to support safe and efficient execution.
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other stakeholders to confirm sequencing, status, and upcoming work.
- Participate in planning sessions, pull planning exercises, and coordination meetings to align schedules with field realities and project goals.
- Translate complex scheduling data into clear, actionable insights and reports for field teams and leadership.
- Support project pursuits by developing conceptual and proposal schedules for new opportunities.
- Assist estimating and preconstruction teams by identifying schedule risks, opportunities, and constraints early in the project lifecycle.
- Integrate subcontractor schedules and resource/manpower loading into overall project schedules to ensure alignment and coordination.
- Use Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project to build, update, and analyze schedules and to support project management and reporting needs.
- 3–5 years of construction scheduling experience in commercial or industrial projects, with electrical construction experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling and project planning activities.
- Understanding of electrical construction sequencing, building systems, and construction documents.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to inform schedule development.
- Experience integrating subcontractor schedules and resource/manpower loading into master project schedules.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate schedule logic, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to present scheduling information clearly to field teams and leadership.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with project managers, superintendents, estimating, and preconstruction teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in industrial construction environments and large-scale electrical projects.
- Background in project management and production tracking within construction settings.
- Familiarity with master scheduling for complex, multi-phase projects.
- Ability to support conceptual and proposal schedules for project pursuits.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to schedule accuracy and constructability.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting schedules to changing field conditions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
