Job Description

The Final Assembler builds and prepares units for shipment by following visual aids, verbal and written instructions, and wiring lists. This role involves mechanical and electrical assembly, use of hand and power tools, and consistent adherence to security and safety procedures. The position requires the ability to lift 40–60 pounds and stand for the duration of the shift while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble units using visual aids, verbal instructions, written instructions, and wiring lists to ensure accurate and complete final assemblies.
  • Prepare parts for assembly by organizing, inspecting, and staging components according to specifications.
  • Use simple hand tools such as drills, impact tools, and various other hand tools safely and effectively during assembly tasks.
  • Perform mechanical and electromechanical assembly work, including low-voltage installation as required.
  • Read and follow instructions carefully to ensure compliance with assembly procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure that all assemblies meet production and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate and work well in a team environment to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve basic assembly or installation issues as they arise.
  • Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy and any related safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and operational needs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in electrical or electromechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to lift 40–60 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
  • Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools, including drills and impact tools.
  • Strong attention to detail in mechanical and final assembly work.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with production and light industrial equipment.
  • Problem-solving ability to address basic assembly and installation challenges.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with coworkers.
  • Comfort with low-voltage installation tasks and mechanical installation work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical assembly, final assembly, or production environments.
  • Familiarity with blueprints or visual aids used in assembly processes.
  • Mechanically inclined experience, such as experience as a tire technician or display technician, is highly relatable and beneficial.
  • Experience in light industry or production settings.
  • Installation experience, particularly in low-voltage or mechanical installations.

Work Environment

This is a shift-based role working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The position is paid on an hourly basis with a shift differential added to the base rate. The work takes place in a production and light industrial environment that involves mechanical and electromechanical assembly tasks, use of hand and power tools, and low-voltage installation. Team members stand for most of the shift and regularly handle parts and assemblies that may weigh between 40 and 60 pounds. The environment is structured around safety, security, and adherence to established procedures, with a collaborative team atmosphere and access to recreational facilities for employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.26 - $22.26/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
