Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to support daily operations in a modern, climate-controlled distribution facility. You will focus on picking and packing orders, unloading trucks, and placing products in their designated locations throughout the warehouse. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with prior warehouse experience who enjoys active work and wants the option to increase weekly hours.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations according to order requirements.
- Carefully pack products to ensure they are secure and ready for shipment.
- Unload trucks and move incoming materials to appropriate staging or storage areas.
- Place products in designated warehouse locations, following established layout and inventory procedures.
- Use RF scanners to locate, identify, and track inventory during picking and receiving activities.
- Perform basic material handling tasks, including moving boxes and pallets within the warehouse.
- Operate pallet jacks safely to move pallets and larger loads as needed.
- Support shipping activities by preparing orders for dispatch and ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with team members and adjust to changing workload demands, including occasional extended shifts.
Essential Skills
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in warehouse picking and packing or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience with order picking and packing in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to use RF scanners for inventory, picking, and receiving tasks.
- Experience with basic material handling activities in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to safely operate a pallet jack for moving pallets and materials.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse.
- Capability to perform physically active work, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving products throughout the shift.
- Reliability and punctuality for first-shift hours, Monday through Friday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a temporary warehouse role is helpful.
- Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined workflows.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and product placement.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating workload, including occasional extended hours when required.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other warehouse staff.

Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
