Pay: $27.00/hr Contract | $29.00/hr Upon Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday training schedule, then transition to Back-End Day Shift

EMD Electronics is seeking a Gas & Chemical Technician to support critical gas and chemical distribution systems within a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and operating gas and chemical delivery equipment while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities- Support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of site gas and chemical distribution equipment.
- Perform gas cylinder and chemical drum change-outs on various systems.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Support more than 500 pieces of gas and chemical distribution equipment from multiple manufacturers.
- Execute preventative maintenance activities and equipment inspections.
- Participate in safety initiatives, quality programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Promote and maintain a zero-incident safety and quality culture.
- Assist with installation, decommissioning, repair, and troubleshooting of:
- Gas distribution systems
- Chemical delivery systems
- Precursor delivery systems
- Bulk chemical distribution systems
- Complete technical training and qualification requirements as assigned.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status effectively.
- High school diploma, GED, technical certification, or equivalent technical training.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience with electrical, electronic, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work safely in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to different schedules, including nights as needed.
- Ability to lift and move materials exceeding 20 pounds.
- Experience working with chemical or gas distribution systems.
- Semiconductor manufacturing experience.
- Military mechanical training or Navy Nuclear Power School background.
- Experience working around hazardous chemicals and gases.
- Industrial semiconductor manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to chemicals requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respirator use required.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, troubleshooting equipment, and lifting materials.
- Random drug testing is required, including THC screening.
