We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to support accurate and timely payroll operations for an organization in Portland, Oregon. Our client is seeking an experienced professional for a long-term contract opportunity. This individual will lead a large-scale reconciliation and data review project, ensuring employee records, contributions, and related reporting are accurate, complete, and compliant. The role will also support process improvement initiatives, documentation development, and knowledge transfer to strengthen internal operations.


Responsibilities:

Lead a comprehensive review and reconciliation of employee retirement and benefits data, with a strong focus on Oregon PERS compliance and reporting.

Research, analyze, and document discrepancies, exceptions, and reporting issues.

Partner with internal stakeholders to review findings and implement corrective actions as needed.

Act as a subject matter expert on Oregon PERS policies, processes, and reporting requirements.

Support ongoing employee setup, maintenance, and data integrity within retirement and payroll systems.

Assist with process improvements, documentation, and development of standard operating procedures.

Provide training, guidance, and knowledge transfer to internal team members to strengthen long-term operational effectiveness.

• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and reconciliation.

• Proven knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, including compliance with applicable tax and wage regulations.

• Hands-on experience with payroll administration and record maintenance.

• Deep understanding of Oregon PERS

• Strong understanding of payroll calculations, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and related reporting requirements.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling sensitive payroll information.

• Ability to analyze payroll discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and communicate resolutions clearly with stakeholders.
