This role focuses on assembling mechanical and labeling equipment components within a light industrial, warehouse-based environment. You will use hand and power tools, follow blueprints and assembly instructions, and ensure all parts meet quality and dimensional specifications using precision measuring instruments. The position supports the production of advanced packaging and labeling machinery used across multiple industries.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies for labeling and packaging equipment according to blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently to perform assembly tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to ensure accurate assembly of parts and units.
- Inspect parts for proper machining finish, dimensions, and overall quality prior to assembly.
- Check sub-assemblies and completed units to verify correct fit, function, and conformance to specifications.
- Use precision measuring and gauging instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Identify nonconforming parts or assemblies and report issues to the appropriate personnel for correction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse environment to support safe and efficient operations.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating tools and handling equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly in a light industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Skill in using precision measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting machining finishes, dimensions, and assembled units.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how components fit and function together.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and handle physical tasks associated with assembly work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience assembling labeling machines or packaging equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and components used in industrial machinery.
- Comfort working with tape measures and other measuring tools for accurate layout and assembly.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address assembly or quality issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and share information about production or quality concerns.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
