Field Technician
Job Description
Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and seeing the direct impact of your work? We're looking for a Field Technician to join our growing team and play a critical role in building the telecommunications infrastructure that keeps communities connected.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in construction, landscaping, utility locating, surveying, or other outdoor field roles who are interested in developing technical skills in GIS, CAD, and Outside Plant (OSP) design. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on industry experience, and have a clear path toward advancement into lead field, design, or office-based engineering support roles.
What You'll Do- Collect and document field data on utility poles and aerial infrastructure
- Take measurements, photographs, and site observations
- Support permitting and project documentation activities
- Assist lead technicians during field surveys and site walks
- Use GIS and CAD tools to support design teams
- Maintain accurate records and follow safety procedures
- 1+ year of outdoor field work experience (construction, landscaping, surveying, utilities, telecommunications, etc.)
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to walk long distances and navigate uneven terrain
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- GIS, AutoCAD, or telecommunications experience is a plus, but not required
- Hands-on training and career development
- Exposure to GIS, CAD, and telecommunications design

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbury, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
